The CSPA Board of Directors are:
Bill Jennings, Chairman/Executive Director
Bill
started out as the owner of a fly shop. When a fish kill occurred
on the Mokelumne River, Bill became so incensed by the occurrence
that he launched into a major effort in restoring the river to
health and cofounded the Committee to Save the Mokelumne. Because of his efforts, the river went from 12 salmon
returning in the early 90's to populations of over 16,000 today.
In the process, Bill sold his shop to devote his full efforts at
fishery restoration. As part of that effort, Bill became the
DeltaKeeper and now, Executive Director of CSPA.
Jim Crenshaw, President/Treasurer
John
was the founder and the first executive of the United Anglers of
California, He helped draft the federal Klamath River Basin
Fishery Resources Restoration Act and other laws restoring
salmon habitat. He helped write the Central Valley Project
Improvement Act to boost fish populations, and played a pivotal
role in Proposition 132, which banned gill nets in state waters.
As CSPA's Conservation Director, John is a key player in efforts
to curb fresh water exports from the Delta.
Corey Cate, Secretary
Chris
is a lifelong California angler who has fished rivers and
streams across the state. Inspired by a twenty year history
with the Silver Fork American River and Caples Creek, he
participated as a volunteer "unaffiliated stream
fisheries advocate" in relicensing the El Dorado
hydroelectric project, through which flows in those streams
are managed. Next, he moved on to the SMUD project north of
Highway 50. Chris joined forces with CSPA in 2006, and is now
involved in ten hydro projects. Occasionally, he still gets to
fish.

Jerry,
when not fishing himself, is a guide on the Sacramento/San
Joaquin Delta. He earned the time to fish and guide by putting
in 8 years as a teacher, 14 years in private business, 3 years
of working for the U.N. in the South Pacific and 13 years on the
Sacramento Police Department.
Jerry
was editor of the Delta Fly Fishers newsletter, Rx Fly
Fishing for seven years, president of the Delta Fly Fishers
in 1991 and President of the NCCFFF in 1992. During that time he
participated in numerous DFG field surveys and club conservation
efforts.
His
favorite fishing locations when not fishing the delta are the
warm waters of the tropics, especially the Sea of Cortez around
Mulege, Baja Sur.
