NCCFFF asks fishing and enviro groups to sign on to support rollback of Section 7 ESA Regulations

April 1, 2009 -- Late last fall many of you were kind enough to sign onto a letter (pdf attached) encouraging the administration to reverse the Bush administration section 7 ESA regulations (consultations and Biological opinions).  Well, your support for this was very helpful in getting President Obama to put on hold these regulations.  However, we are now working to get the Secretaries of Interior and Commerce to finish the deal, and roll back the regulations.   It is now up to them to act.

We had approx. 130 groups nationally sign our last letter, and many of you took that action.  We are now asking you to sign onto this new letter to the Secretaries.  They need to hear from us, and that rolling back the regulations is what the American public wants.  Below is a list of groups that signed onto the first letter, but not the current one (list is in alpabetical order for easy reference).  Please take a look to see if you are on the list, and if so, please consider signing on again.  We encourage everyone to sign on, even if this is the first time.  Both the 2008 letter and the current one are attached.

Please advise Jon Hunter, policy director, if you can sign on.  jhunter@stopextinction.org.  Please provide name, title, organization name, city and state.  We need to know by COB April 15th.

Please circulate to anyone you feel would be interested.  Thank you!
