CSPA will have membership specials sign-ups at the Fly Fishing Show

Restore the Delta logoFFF logoFly Fishing Show adA busy weekend coming for CSPA: One weekend, three events

The coming weekend will be a busy one for CSPA with our troops spread thin to cover three great venues, the Fly Fishing Show in Pleasanton, Friday through Sunday, the NCCFFF Hall of Fame dinner on Saturday night in Pleasanton and Restore The Delta's symposium entitled "A Bold Direction: The People's Vision for the Delta" to take place in Lodi all day Saturday

The Fly Fishing Show is a three day event with a massive exhibitor list including manufacturers, retail outlets, lodges, and guides. A complete schedule of presentations is part of the show as are casting ponds and instruction, fly tying, and of course, our CSPA booth.

As CSPA did at the ISE shows, we will discount our membership premiums since we can save the cost of shipping. New members at the $30 level will receive a CSPA hat as a premium, normally presented at the $50 membership level. Members donating $50 will receive a CSPA shirt, regularly a $75 premium, $75 donors will receive a shirt and hat, again, regularly a $100 premium. The premium bonuses increase even more at greater levels of contributing.

All of the money, minus the cost of the premiums will go to CSPA's work to restore our fisheries and provide them with volumes of clean water.

The details for the show and CSPA's booth schedule is at the the tail end of this article.

While not part of the show, the NCCFFF will also hold its Hall of Fame dinner in Pleasanton on February 28th. This year's inductee will be Chuck Echer. The dinner is one of the Northern California Council's major fund raisers. A number of CSPA people will be attending the dinner including Corey Cate, Richard Izmirian, Chris Shutes, Mike McKenzie and CSPA's webmaster, Jerry Neuburger.

An equally important event is Restore The Delta's symposium, "A Bold Direction: The People's Vision for the Delta". The event will feature three well know politicians, Congressman George Miller (D-Martinez), Jerry McNerney (D-Pleasanton) and state senator, Lois Wolk. CSPA's Executive Director, Bill Jennings is slated to receive an award for his efforts towards preserving and the restoring the delta and both he and Michael Jackson, CSPA Director and attorney will participate in the panel discussions throughout the day.

The event will be held in Lodi at the Wine and Roses Inn and B&B from 8:15 am to 4:45 pm and is open to the public. A large segment of the delta community is expected to attend including area farmers and businesses. Those wishing to attend should contact: Barbara Barrigan-Parrilla, Phone: 209-479-2053, Email: Barbara@restorethedelta.org. A lunch is scheduled as part of the event, registration and lunch costs are unknown.
