CSPA files comments on tentative waste discharge for Amador Pine Grove Community Leachfield System, Amador County

January 6, 2009 -- Finding that Jackson Creek has been shown by sampling to be significantly impacted by high coliform concentrations, CSPA's Executive Director, Bill Jennings, has requested "designated party" status in the proposed Pine Grove Leachfield System. Jackson Creek is a tributary of Dry Creek which flows to the Mokelumne River.

CSPA believes that a number of corrective measures need to be added to the permit including a water conservation program, education and outreach programs, a sewer ordinance that clearly prohibits the discharge of pollutants. The discharger must also complete and submit an antidegradation analysis and include a monitoring program.
